All trips depart and return to the Alpine Boat Basin

Join TNC and ANJEC this summer and enjoy a relaxing sailing trip aboard a local historic tall ship. Departing from the Alpine Boat Basin, each themed sail will let participants experience the beauty of the river while enjoying NJ’s history, art, music, and, of course, nature! Passengers will view the majestic Palisades and city skyline as they listen to informative presentations. Children's sails contain activities that are tailored to ensure youth enjoy each voyage of discovery while learning more about the Hudson ecological systems.

The Sloop Clearwater is recognized as America’s Environmental Flagship. As one of the first in the United States to conduct science-based environmental education aboard a sailing ship, this program has created the template for environmental education programs around the world. More than half a million people have experienced their first real look at the Hudson River’s estuarine ecosystem aboard the Clearwater. In 2004, the Sloop Clearwater was named to the National Register of Historic Places for its groundbreaking role in the environmental movement. TNC offers themed trips focusing on NJ’s history, art, music, and of course, nature! Passengers will view the majestic Palisades and city skyline as they listen to informative presentations.
